At Assumption, our Faith Formation program aims to help children build a lasting relationship with God and the Church. We focus on nurturing children, families, and catechists by establishing a strong moral and spiritual foundation that inspires lifelong discipleship and a deep connection with Jesus. This reminds participants that God, our loving Father, along with Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, loves, guides, and cares for them. Our supportive environment serves children from kindergarten through 8th grade and their parents, helping them understand their Catholic faith, deepen their relationship with the Lord, and prepare for the sacraments.
LEVELS K-8 GRADE
KINDERGARTEN
This optional level which takes place on Monday at 4:30 is provided to enhance the faith formation experience and get the children acclimated with our community. They will learn about Jesus and his love for us and the Church with extensive hands on experiences.
LEVELS 1 AND 2
Our parish’s Faith Formation program is designed for children requiring sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation and First Communion. In accordance with diocesan guidelines, this program lasts two years. At Assumption Parish, children typically start this program in the first grade and receive their First Eucharist in May of their second grade. Classes for students in levels 2 and 3 take place on Monday or Tuesday.
LEVELS 3 THROUGH 6
Classes for students in levels 3 through 6 take place on Monday or Tuesday as they continue their faith journey, understanding and experiencing God's presence in their lives.
SPECIAL NEEDS
Special needs classes are held on Saturday mornings.
CONFIRMATION PREPARATION
The Diocese requires a two-year formation period for the celebration of this sacrament. Here at Assumption, this program begins in the first year in Level 7 and in the second year in Level 8, with classes held on Mondays or Tuesdays.
REGISTRATION
Registration for faith Formation begins in July and ends in September.
